The Vision

An interactive educational ecosystem hosted online, which young people can safely and freely explore. Along side this knowledge base, there will be a dedicated community space for learners and parents to gain support and connect with each other. With experienced admins / mentors available to support young people in their explorations.

Core Spaces

Each core space is an invitation to explore a particular element of our being - working from our own personal sense of self, to our personal networks, and into the wider world and finding our place within it.

Resources have been curated with a great deal of care, as to present a unbiased and broad view point to the learners. With this in mind, resources are inherently neurodivergent affirming, anti-racist, anti-ableist, and celebrate the natural diversity in the world around us. We are constantly working to ensure resources are accessible to all.

  • An exploration into human biology and the body/mind connection, this space focuses on our individual experiences of being human.

  • An exploration into our own internal experiences and how we interact with the world around us. This space aims to challenge the idea that there is only one way to be in the world, and explore the diversity of Self.

  • This exploration encourages us to consider how our environment affects our being. By understanding this interaction, we can better advocate for our own needs, alter our environments to create safety, and enjoy different forms of self-expression.

  • Looking at different ways to connect to our community, this space has a strong focus on cultivating relational safety, and finding belonging.

  • Developing our wider world connections, this exploration is an invitation to look at topics such as social justice, activism and global citizenship. Taking a look at how, as individuals, we hold the power to create change.

An invitation to dive deeper

Each of the core spaces contain vast opportunity for deeper dives and side quests. These extension topics will assist learners in exploring in a monotropic way; both feeding their love of learning, and supporting their neurology.

Project Based Learning

Throughout the core spaces are opportunities to undertake projects. These are practical activities for young people who prefer to engage in a hands-on or active way.

For example, projects may have roots in: art, design and technology, community projects and activism.

Community

Learning in isolation is a very different experience to learning in community. Knowing that there are people around you who you can connect with for support, or to share knowledge and talk through ideas, is vital if we are to become critical thinkers. By offering a community space, we hope to remove the traditions of age segregated, hierarchical learning, and instead, welcome the open sharing of knowledge.

The community platform will contain spaces for:

• discussion around core space topics

• areas for deep dives / SPINs

• social areas: daily chat, show & tell, book club

• safe spaces to discuss neurodivergent experiences

• an area to talk about learning theory and offer support for parents

• opportunities to join live explorations

Final thoughts

The very nature of ND neurology means that we see the world in different ways - and this is SO beautiful. If we, as a society, can begin to see the inherent value of neurodiversity, of biodiversity, within our education system, then we will begin to see a system which thrives - and allows our young people to thrive.

Just as in nature, when biodiversity is high, the ecosystem becomes sustainable - the communities within become self- sufficient and sustainable, they interact on many levels with each part playing to its strengths and providing a valuable role within the bigger picture of life. And when we provide input to an ecosystem, even the smallest change can lead to an evolutionary moment.

This is what I hope to see though this reimagining.

An educational offering which can create ripples through our Self, our own ecosystem, and bring about positive changes in the world around us.
